William Stevens – Undersheriff

William Stevens serves as the Undersheriff of the Greer County Sheriff’s Office, bringing more than two decades of public-safety experience, leadership, and dedication to his role.

William began his public-service career in emergency medical services in 2001, earning his EMT-Basic certification before advancing to EMT-Intermediate in 2006 and Paramedic certification in 2011. He proudly served 20 years with Jackson County EMS, retiring in December 2021.

His commitment to protecting and serving others led him into law enforcement. William earned his reserve CLEET certification in 2014 and served as a Reserve Deputy with the Greer County Sheriff’s Office. In October 2022, he completed the CLEET Bridge Academy, earning his full-time CLEET certification.

William’s experience in both emergency medical services and law enforcement has given him the ability to lead under pressure, make critical decisions, and put the safety of others first. As Undersheriff, he is committed to supporting the Sheriff, leading the men and women of the Greer County Sheriff’s Office, and ensuring the citizens of Greer County receive professional, dependable, and dedicated law enforcement.

Outside of law enforcement, William is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is married to Michelle Stevens and is proud of the large family they share, including nine children and thirteen grandchildren.
